Why you need a PNG of your SVG
SVG is the format logos, icons and charts are made in. It scales to any size without blur, which is exactly why designers hand it over. Then you try to put it into a Word document, a Google Slides deck, a marketplace listing, a print shop order form or an email signature, and the field says PNG or JPG only. Social networks are the same: none of them take an SVG as a profile picture. Hence this page.
What size the PNG comes out
The PNG is rendered at the size written inside the SVG: its width and height, or the viewBox when those are missing. A logo saved from Illustrator at 200 by 60 units gives a 200 by 60 pixel PNG. If that is too small, open the result in our Image Resizer and scale it up. Because the source is vector, a better route is to set a bigger width and height in the SVG itself before converting, then every pixel is crisp instead of interpolated. Any text editor can do it. The two attributes sit on the first svg tag.
What renders and what does not
The browser does the drawing, so the PNG looks the way the SVG looks in Chrome or Firefox. Gradients, masks, clip paths, filters and embedded base64 images all come through. Two things do not. Fonts: text set in a typeface your computer lacks falls back to a default one, so convert text to outlines in the design tool first if the typeface matters. External references: an SVG that links to an image or stylesheet by URL is drawn without it, browsers block those loads for safety. The transparent background stays transparent. If you want it flat white, use SVG to JPG instead.

Frequently asked questions
Is the transparent background kept?+
Yes. Areas the SVG does not paint stay transparent in the PNG. Convert to JPG if you want them white.
Why is my PNG small or blurry?+
It was rendered at the size declared in the SVG, often the size the designer drew at. Edit the width and height attributes on the svg tag to a larger value and convert again, or resize the PNG afterwards.
Can I choose the pixel size here?+
Not yet. The PNG matches the SVG's own dimensions. Set them in the file, or scale the result with the Image Resizer.
The text looks wrong. Why?+
The SVG uses a font that is not installed on your computer, so the browser substituted one. Ask for a version with text converted to outlines, or install the font and convert again.
Is the SVG uploaded anywhere?+
No. It is parsed and drawn in your browser. The PNG is written on your device.
What about animated SVG?+
You get the first frame, the state at time zero. CSS and SMIL animations are not played out.
