Nano Banana 2.1 questions
The model, what it costs and how to call it.
What is Nano Banana 2.1?
It's Google's image model for text-to-image and editing, which Google calls the successor to Nano Banana 2. On Azurade AI it runs in the web app and through the API as nano-banana-2.1.
Is Nano Banana 2.1 better than Nano Banana 2?
Google says 2.1 looks better, follows prompts more closely, renders text more cleanly and keeps a character the same over multi-turn edits. Here a 1K image is 2 credits on 2.1 and 4 on Nano Banana 2, which keeps Google Search grounding.
How much does Nano Banana 2.1 cost?
2 credits for a 1K image, 3 for 2K and 5 for 4K, so from $0.04 per 1K image with the 500-credit pack, which any paid plan can buy, or $0.06 from the 1,000-credit pack without a plan. Credits never expire, and failed images are refunded automatically.
Is Nano Banana 2.1 free?
Not unlimited. New accounts get 4 free credits, enough for 2 images at 1K, and after that you buy credits as you go without a subscription.
How do I use the Nano Banana 2.1 API?
Create a key on your profile page and send model nano-banana-2.1 with your prompt to POST /api/v2/generations, or connect an MCP client to https://azurade.com/mcp. Both bill the balance you use in the web app.
How many reference images can I send?
Up to 14 per request in the web app and the API. Send them as images to edit, or as references for a character or product that should stay the same.
Which sizes and aspect ratios does Nano Banana 2.1 support?
1K, 2K or 4K as JPG or PNG, in these aspect ratios: auto (default), 1:8, 1:4, 9:16, 2:3, 3:4, 4:5, 1:1, 5:4, 4:3, 3:2, 16:9, 21:9, 4:1, 8:1.
