Still one of the strongest image models available, with a community nothing else in this category matches. It has taken no outside funding, which is why there is no valuation to quote and why it has never had to chase growth. The catch has always been the payment model.

The sensible subscription option if you want a plan and dislike watching credits evaporate. It rolls unspent tokens forward rather than resetting them.

Credits you can buy without a plan

If you generate images most days a subscription is a rational purchase, and our own plans exist for that case. Subscription-only pricing goes wrong in the month you do not use it, and the month after you cancel.

Credits bought here work like a deposit: they do not expire, they are not tied to a plan, and an unused balance is money you have not spent yet. Add a plan if you want one, and its monthly credits stack on top of whatever is already in your balance instead of replacing it.

Credits never expire. The balance only moves when you add to it or spend from it, with no monthly reset and no rollover cap.
Subscription credits stack, so a quiet month leaves the balance where it was and the next drop lands on top.
A failed generation goes back to your balance automatically, without a ticket or anyone having to approve it.

What is the best Midjourney alternative without a subscription?▼
